Millie Elder Holmes
Millie Elder Holmes is a force to be reckoned with.
Our Editor Liam Sharma speaks to the tastemaker and entrepreneur about where she is now, the wisdom she walks with and everything she’s loving in her life at the moment.
LIAM: Millie, as you know, you are a very special friend of mine, and I am so grateful to have you in my life. But I also think you are a good friend and guiding light to your community, which you’ve spent years building. You give so much effort and love to other people, some of who you’ve never even met IRL; what do you do to take care of yourself?
Hi Liam, thank you so much for thinking of me and asking me to do this interview. I really appreciate it. It’s very kind of you to say so. I never really thought of myself as someone to look up to, but as I’ve grown, I realize that we can all take things from other people and that no one is perfect. Sometimes the best lessons are learned from the people in life who aren’t the typical role model.
Taking care of myself, generally means me spending time alone, something that used to scare me and I hated. Now I need it. I’m an introvert and extrovert, so I love to be around people, but then I also really cherish and need that quality time alone just to regroup and recharge. Laying in bed, face masks, movies, and David Attenborough all recharge me
Who is your muse?
I don’t know if I have a muse per se, but I watch and follow a lot of people that just let me know that being myself is all right, that there’s no one way to be, and that nothing is right or wrong. Everything is an experience, and it’s all part of the journey. Those people include my mother's family members, my dad’s wife, my partner, the people that I choose to surround myself with on a daily basis and also people who have now passed on like my dad.
What gives you butterflies in your stomach?
Ha ha finding a good new recipe on Instagram, my boyfriend, obviously a Sunday or Saturday market and a good online sale.
What is one of the greatest lessons you’ve ever learnt?
That you never really lose you always win or learn a lesson. Nothing really substantial comes from being ridiculously hard on yourself. We’re all going around for the first time. And kindness always wins.
Where in the world do you feel most at home?
Wherever I’m with my people.
What is something in the world you’re frustrated by that you wish more people knew about?
I don’t know if I can say it’s one particular issue, but I wish that people knew how privileged we are in this part of the world. I wish that people had a little bit more perspective and I’m sure that I could have a little bit more perspective too. I don’t really like to point fingers but I suppose that’s something that I wish.
If you could coin this phase of your life in a few words, what would it be?
Relaxed, laid-back, trusting, and going with the flow.
Who do you love to follow on Instagram?
@ranasmag @sooziethefoodie mainly food accounts tbh.
What are your beauty non-negotiables?
Well, as you know I’m a shareholder in Jeuneora, and we make skincare and supplements, so everything from there. I’ve been taking collagen peptides for the last six years. I will never go without it. We use the most amazing ingredients and we have an out-of-this-world formulation specialist, so I die for the skincare we make.
Owning shares in a beauty brand that specializes in the glow has given me the best insight into looking after my skin. From the inside out. Jeuneora Collagen and water daily - a Frank Green Drink Bottle is always with me. And then ThemGenes serum, vitamin c, retinol, eye serum and face oil from Jeuneora. All contribute to a glowing complexion.
What clothing brands do you love at the moment?
Ooh, I’ve been obsessed with dissh, and Blanca studio, always love skims for basics.
What is your favourite meal to cook?
Steak, a good steak with charred broccoli and toasted pinenuts with a sweet potato mash or salad is a chef’s kiss for me.
What does a typical Sunday afternoon look like to you?
It’s laundry day and movie day, trying to get some head start on the week ahead.
What is your favourite snack?
Hummus. I’ll buy a big 1L and take the whole thing out and drizzle some oil, a squeeze of lemon or lime and some sea salt and then just dip celery into it.
Instagram or Tiktok?
Ooh, it depends but about 50/50.
Favourite tattoo?
My biological dad and me on my arm, my mum took the photo of us in the sea in Lesvos Greece and it’s such a special memory.
Where do you want to travel to next?

My business partner Monique - it’s her birthday today.
What is the last photo on your phone?
A screenshot of some Cinderella-esque pumps.
When will I next see you?
