Liam Sharma’s sexy shower essentials

There’s something so sensual about a decadent shower ritual. I actually thrive in the shower. I’ve had some of the best sex of my life in the shower, but on the flip side, I’ve also had some of the worst sex of my life in the shower. Someone slipped. Regardless, it’s always a memorable experience. And I really love a good fucking shower.

Coming home from the beach, when you’ve basked in the sweltering sun for maybe too long, and taking five minutes to wash the beach off you. Or when you’ve had a miserable day and everything’s cooked and nothing’s gone right and all you can count on is a five-minute piping hot shower to drown your sorrows and forget about everything for a minute as the water encompasses every inch of you.

Basically, I know how to shower well, like, really well. I can’t tell you the last time I haven’t showered at least twice a day. And it’s not because I am overly smelly or have sweet fuck all else to do. There’s a method to my madness.

Do you ever wonder why you have such brilliant ideas in the shower? Well, when you have a warm, relaxing shower, your body naturally produces dopamine (we love to see it) and an increase in dopamine flow through your body directly impacts your brain’s cognitive function, allowing your thoughts to flow more freely, so the chances of thinking more critically and creatively are higher.

So, without further adieu, here’s my decadent shower essentials to keep you spotless clean, because y’all know I always have you covered.

I’ve used this shampoo for the last four years. I can’t find anything like it on the market. It strips away all impurities without leaving my hair damaged, it’s got added HA to keep your hair follicles moisturised. It’s not cheap, but neither are you, sweetie. Purchase the conditioner if you can, too. I thoroughly enjoy using it in conjunction, for ultra-plush looking hair. I always use Kerastase if I am wanting to style my hair and make it look presentable.

Chloe Zara Silk Hair Condition

A Kiwi favourite, Chloe Zara’s a staple in my shower now. I’ve grown fond of the decadent conditioner that’s packed full of natural butters and esters to leave you with silky smooth (not greasy) locks. There are so many wonderful products on Chloe’s range, I highly recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone and testing out her range. The scent is subtle and a little really does go a long way. I also am OBSESSED with her Hair and Body Perfume Oil.

Alpha-H Micro Super Scrub

I shave my chest every month or so, and with that comes pesky ingrown chest hairs. I have to use an exfoliant every other night to combat the pricks. Alpha-H’s powerful 12% AHA is a hardworking dual-action physical and chemical exfoliant to polish dead skin for a clear, bump-free surface. It’s inspired by professional microdermabrasion, which we know I love.

Sol de Janeiro bum bum body scrub

Fuck this smells good. I buy everything Sol de Janerio puts out on the market because the scent is so delicious I just want to lather myself in it. This scrub is definitely more of a hedonistic, sensual experience, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s really gentle, so every day use is totally sweet. Lather liberally.

Go To shower party

A comforting, easy to use shower gel for anyone and everyone. Including those with sensitive skin. It doesn’t strip your skin or over emulsify. Upon application, you will get the strongest whiff of sweet almond (Go-To’s signature scent). Go-To has cleverly incorporated humectants to mitigate tans-epidermal-water-loss. Use Shower Party first, then slap on Skin Party directly to damp skin after you’re out of the shower.

Le Labo shower gel

Okay, this is my favourite recommendation of the lot. Le Labo is a scent powerhouse. This shower gel has a masculine scent to it, that I wash with before I dip out for a night of debauchery. It makes me feel fucking sexy and hot. I’ll forever use it. It also contains powerhouse antioxidants like sesame seed oil, sunflower oil and rosemary extract – to keep your skin glowing in tip-top shape. Divine!

Evo Hair salty dog spray

Okay, weird flex but I used to have random heterosexual guys message me about two things beauty related: what shaving cream I used and what hair gel I bought. And the answer for the latter is NONE. I hate gels and waxes in my hair, gross. They stick to my fingers, too. No thanks. My trick is to generously spray (six or so pumps) of this Salty Dog Spray directly after I hop out of the shower every day and style it and let it air dry. There you have it, angels.

Now, everyone, go wash yourselves and think of me fondly forever.
