Guys, listen up…This season's menswear is hot!
Season 2 of White Lotus might be over, but with Summer in full swing and everyone inching closer and closer to logging off the year – Tom Ryan’s rounded up our edit of local designers dishing out the best Men’s resort wear offerings.
Perfect for lounging poolside, scouting out idyllic remote beaches or heading off to luxe Sicilian palazzos – here’s what the Sauce boys are loving and will be wearing all Summer long.
If you’re in need of looks that will immediately elevate your poolside wardrobe, look no further than COMMAS. The Australian brand, directed by Richard Jarman is the pinnacle of luxury resortwear – just check out the brand’s impressive roster of global stockists or fans like Peggy Gou for proof.
Crafted with the highest-quality fabrics sourced across Europe and Japan, each COMMAS collection is designed as a complete wardrobe that can stand the test of time. Their silk shirting, draped linen and luxe knits hit differently. Trust us. If you only visit one brand to replenish your Summer wardrobe – make it COMMAS – promise you’ll be the most stylish person wherever your Summer takes you.
One of my most recurring style inspirations is people watching at the airport. So when I first read the show notes for Wynn’s Resort show back at Aus Fashion Week, the resonance was real. You know the vibe – you’re queuing at the bag drop counter watching people pre and post vacation, hastily repacking their suitcase and pulling out any and every item that they can layer on rather than it contributing to the luggage weight.
This was the inspiration for Wynn’s Mens Resortwear SS23 collection and the result is the most incredible mashup of tourist-dad vibes you could imagine. Bright blue puffer jackets, corduroy, baggy denim and hibiscus printed boxer shorts perhaps don’t sound like they should live together in a collection – but our clever friend Wynn has proved otherwise.
The latest mens collection just dropped this week, so go get it here while it’s hot.
Design-duo and brothers, Alex and Tim Britten-Finschi are creating new perspectives on swim and leisure via Australian label, Pool. Their latest collection, Holiday Home feels very much like revisiting a family photo album.
Evident across the entire collection is a commitment to breaking down old tropes of masculinity. If you’ve ever flicked through old photos of family members basking in long summer days – the short shorts were short, speedos were the norm and colour-block knits were all the rage. It’s *chefs kiss* then from me to see Pool breathing new life into these previously cherished styles and silhouettes.

Established in Sydney and crafted in Europe, Haulier is centered around the philosophy of creating Enduring Goods. First carving out a name for themselves with their now iconic utility totes, this Summer, founder and creative director, Jeremy Hershan doubled down to serve up a full RTW collection that is giving retro Summer vibes.
From mesh tees and striped shirting to the most perfect canvas blazer, we’ve got a penchant for goods that can endure time, sunshine and boundless summer memories. Whenever I see the Monaco Track Shorts I can’t help but think of the opening scene from Grease – but really, is there anything more Summer than that?
We’re sold, but check it out for yourself at Haulier.
Founded by stylist, Gadir Rajab & his pal, Raquelle Saba, Raga Malak might not fit the traditional mould of resortwear – but we’re obsessed so we’re pleading our case. Simultaneously celebrating and challenging the duo’s Middle Eastern heritage, the collection is full of club-ready RTW and swimwear silhouettes (many adorned with Arabic writing) that in the Middle East would be scrutinized as “too revealing and too western”.
Sure, the last few years have seen Y2K and club-wear styles trend hard, though for Raga Malak, it’s not about a trend – instead providing an offering of summer-ready styles to make the wearer feel hot af. The tank and trucker hat combo is a big vibe, and we’ll no doubt be rocking it very soon.

Regularly churning out chic Summer fits in linen, cashmere and terry towelling – each season, Venroy’s lookbooks prove that Creative Director, Sean Venturi has the effortless cool aesthetic down pat.
Our Australian friends are well and truly sorted, with 7 stores across the country. But consider this our official petition for Venroy to open a NZ Venroy ASAP.
