Anything that facilitates a hands-free existence becomes a necessity soon as you welcome a baby. With our second baby en-route I wanted to find something a bit more elegant to use for walks, lunch dates or just doing things around the house. I love Portier’s designs and I've been eyeing this style for a while as it works well in summer as well as winter months. The houndstooth design woven fabric in a cotton/ linen blend works really well with my wardrobe too.

I am very much obsessed with this barely-there bikini top and how elegant the fine straps make it look on the back. Initially, I was after the black top to wear not just as swimwear but on the daily, imagine how cool it would look with a pair of low-rise jeans and a shirt thrown on top. Since they are sold out of black in my size, I might as well get one in ecru while waiting for the restock.

I think as soon as I passed the threshold by turning thirty, healthy sleep pattern went to the top of my list. I no longer fall asleep next to my laptop or pull all nighters trying to squeeze a month worth of work in one night or even worse, unable to stop watching a new show. Gone are the days when I was buzzing while running on 5 hours of sleep a week, I can hardly function now if I sleep less than 8 hours a night. This year is the year I say no to toast for dinner. It's why I'm hoping to ditch the slack attitude and actually open Ottelingi's SImple that currently rests on my coffee table. Failing that, I'll try some fresh, hearty meals from Carter's cookbook volume two. Dream big.

With all the cooking and changing in and out of activewear, it means I'll have to put a limit on 'Diva Days' - namely, getting my nails done. New Zealand-based company Studio Gel fits the bill and let's pray for my poor cuticles going forward.
