Sauce Shares : Where you’ll find us in November [Sydney and Auckland Guide]
Our ‘cool things’ to see and do in Auckland and Sydney
The festive season is fast approaching, and I am here for it. Our liquid diet is ready to come back with a few measly canapes to line our stomachs before we dip out for a night of social debauchery. There’s so much on it’s easy to get caught up in it all, but we’ve hand-picked a few events, restaurants and moments you simply can’t miss.
Zeenat Wilkinson & Liam Liam Sharma shares November guide to things to do in Auckland & Sydney.

Auckland
Aotearoa Art Fair - The Art Fair is a wonderful treat even if you’re not looking to buy artworks. For 5 days the Queen's Wharf space – The Cloud turns into a central hub that celebrates some incredible Kiwi talent from all over Aotearoa. A must visit for all art lovers. 16th-20th November. Tickets must be purchased.
Annabel’s x Mor - A local micro-bakery Mor will be stocking up with a delicious line-up of patisserie and viennoiserie at Annabel’s every Friday for the month of November. I can’t think of a better way to get some sunshine, great coffee and treats to kick off the weekend.
Silo Theatre presents The First Prime-Time Asian Sitcom - The First Prime-Time Asian Sitcom is a genre-messing black comedy that exposes the complex characterisations that Asian creatives carry in the name of representation. Showing from 3 to 27 November, get ready for a thought-provoking show with some laughter.
Get a seat at the table at Auckland's best dinner party. Introducing Roses – friends of Sauce and one of our very own Ophelia Harradine Bayly and partner Karl Bayly (of @cooked_plates) have opened a new concept dining room on K road hosting monthly dinners with guest chefs, bakers and winemakers. The chic space is also available to hire for all your private events, perfect for a Christmas celebration or birthday bash. This coming Sunday the 13th of November, Roses will welcome their first chef-in-residence, Krista On Hing (of Gemmayze St & @bunanza) for an intimate dinner party. There are only a few seats left so get in quick!
Cocktail hour and dinner at Kol – Pronounced as ‘coal’ and inspired by the concept of fire and food, ‘Kol’ is Ponsonby’s newest restaurant and cocktail bar by restaurateurs Sid and Chand Sahrawat. The Achari Margarita sounds incredible – Tequila, chilli, orange, aperol. Delish!
This year, Yu Mei is supporting Xin Cheng, a multidisciplinary artist presenting a mixed media installation at Yu Mei's Commercial Bay Lounge, Stories from Te Auaunga Oakley Creek, as part of Aotearoa Art Fair's Projects. The installation will be live for the duration of the Fair, 16-20 November.
Flamingo Pier. As someone who's truly lost his marbles on this luxury estate in Waiheke, I highly recommend locking in a ticket this weekend for Flamingo Pier's February festival - you won't be disappointed, although I can't remember much.
The best place to let your hair down this week - One of the most exciting breakout stories in club culture today. In little over a year Yung Singh has risen to become a must-see draw, headlining virtually every notable club and festival across the European continent. Now finally it’s Australia & New Zealand’s turn. Yung Singh (UK) will be playing on Friday, 11th November @ Neck Of The Woods. Tickets here.
